I’m passionate about helping others feel their best through nutrition—and yes, that means more plants! Outside of work, you’ll find me traveling, running, or savoring a good cup of coffee. Since graduating in 2013, I’ve spent the past 7 years supporting patients with kidney disease and helping others manage a wide range of conditions through nourishing, plant-forward meal patterns. My areas of focus include diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune diseases, kidney disease, obesity, gastrointestinal disorders, and other diet-related illnesses. I’m passionate about guiding people toward better health by addressing the root causes of Westernized diseases with food as medicine. Outside of work, you’ll often find me knitting, tending to my garden, or diving into the latest in nutrition research. I’m here to support your journey—at your pace—with empathy, science, and a deep commitment to your well-being.

Obtuve mi título en Nutrición y me certifiqué como Educadora en Diabetes en México, donde descubrí mi pasión: ayudar a las personas a mejorar su salud sin dejar de lado su cultura ni sus tradiciones alimenticias. En Nutrition As Therapy, me especializo en manejo de peso, salud cardiovascular, diabetes tipo II e hiperlipidemias mixtas. Me llena de satisfacción acompañar a mis pacientes a realizar cambios significativos que respeten su identidad cultural y a la vez impulsen sus objetivos de bienestar. En mi tiempo libre, disfruto salir de excursión y vivir nuevas aventuras con mi grupo de ciclismo de montaña—actividades que nutren tanto mi cuerpo como mi alma.

Blanca Contreras, a Registered Dietitian from Mexico, has lived in California for 20 years. She earned her bachelor's degree in nutritional science from California State University, Los Angeles, and completed her dietetic internship at New York's Distance Dietetic Internship. She holds a Lactation Educator Counselor Certificate. Blanca has extensive experience in nutrition education, counseling, and breastfeeding support. At Nutrition as Therapy, she enjoys providing personalized nutrition counseling for a diverse population with diabetes type I and type II, pediatrics, GI diseases, carduivascular disease, hyperlipidemia, and weight loss counseling. In her free time, she relishes her time in nature, hiking, traveling, reading nutrition articles, and cooking plant-based recipes. Her favorite snack is hummus, strawberries, and dark chocolate.

Currently, I serve as a Performance Dietitian for the US Air Force, where I provide nutrition care to servicemen and women and conduct research on how diet impacts G-force tolerance and eye health. I previously served as the Director of Football Performance Nutrition at UCLA, where I built the university’s first football nutrition program. I have experience working with professional and collegiate football teams, including the Los Angeles Chargers, UCLA Athletics, and the Los Angeles Rams, focusing on performance nutrition. At Nutrition As Therapy, I work with patients to help them reach their body composition goals and teach them how to unlock the benefits of a nutritious diet. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Chapman University and am currently pursuing a master’s in nutrition sciences at Eastern Illinois University to expand my expertise further. When I’m not working, I love hiking in the White Tanks Mountain Range outdoors with my wife and our American Bulldog. My favorite plant-based meal is Buddha Bowls, and I’m always exploring new ways to integrate nutrition into my life. También tengo un certificado como Asesora Educadora en Lactancia. Tengo amplia experiencia en educación nutricional, consejería y apoyo a la lactancia. En Nutrition As Therapy, ofrezco asesoramiento nutricional personalizado a una población diversa, especializándome en diabetes tipo I y II, pediatría, enfermedades gastrointestinales, salud cardiovascular, hiperlipidemia y pérdida de peso. En mi tiempo libre, disfruto de la naturaleza, ya sea haciendo senderismo, viajando o simplemente leyendo artículos de nutrición. Currently, I serve as a Performance Dietitian for the US Air Force, where I provide nutrition care to servicemen and women and conduct research on how diet impacts G-force tolerance and eye health. I previously served as the Director of Football Performance Nutrition at UCLA, where I built the university’s first football nutrition program. I have experience working with professional and collegiate football teams, including the Los Angeles Chargers, UCLA Athletics, and the Los Angeles Rams, focusing on performance nutrition. At Nutrition As Therapy, I work with patients to help them reach their body composition goals and teach them how to unlock the benefits of a nutritious diet. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Chapman University and am currently pursuing a master’s in nutrition sciences at Eastern Illinois University to expand my expertise further. When I’m not working, I love hiking in the White Tanks Mountain Range outdoors with my wife and our American Bulldog. My favorite plant-based meal is Buddha Bowls, and I’m always exploring new ways to integrate nutrition into my life.
